Wow Woman Wednesday - Tersia Engelbrecht

Hello Sassies! :-D

How are you all doing on this STUNNING Wednesday? Ooh, I have another super sexy, super sassy power woman to introduce to you today. Non other than jewelry designer, entrepreneur and down right BABE - Tersia Engelbrecht from African Goddess Creations.

Tersia Engelbrecht, founder of the unique range of accessories known as African Goddess Creations fashions, all of her exclusive designs crafted by hand. (Yes, her OWN hands. #BOSSBABE!!!) As a self-taught artiste with no formal training, Tersia has the ability to tap into the unusual and create masterpieces that are a tangled reflection of her quirky sense of humour, her innermost emotions and her somewhat twisted imagination.

Tersia believes that all women have the right to feel like a Goddess, and invites you to delve into her world, embrace the quirky diva within and above all dare to be different!

The African Goddess Creations label was founded by Tersia Engelbrecht in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2010. Since then she has refined her self taught ability to design and handcraft her distinctive range and now offers unique items extending from jewellery to clothing accessories and exclusive hair fascinators that lend a chic-unique style to any fashionable occasion.

Tersia uses only the finest materials, which she sources locally, and imports exclusively for African Goddess Creations from various overseas countries. Aside from her retail range, she also offers a custom service…so if you can dream it up; she guarantees to make it her personal mission to bring it to life.

Her message is very simple:
Thank you for celebrating “different” with me!

More about her ZIPPED range, which she is launching at InJuly in Linden tomorrow, 10 November.

African Goddess Creations  is launching ZIPPED - a new range of fashion accessories. She invites you to spend an awesome evening with her on 10 November 2016 (6-9pm), at InJuly Linden (57, 3rd Avenue, Linden, Jhb). It's going to be SPECTACULAR! So, tonight when you get home, you're going to give hubby a foot massage and back rub, and advise him that he'll be babysitting tomorrow 6-9PM, so you can come meet BOTH OF US (Yayyyy!!!!) at the launch. Click here to go straight to the Facebook event page, and let us know you're coming. I'm SO excited, and really hope to meet a few of my readers there.
Bring your friends along and join us in celebrating this much anticipated new locally designed and produced range!

The range cleverly combines Zippers with various other materials to create truly unique easy to wear pieces. Double wrap bracelets can be worn as chokers, giving you two accessory options for the price of one! The range is Unisex and there are Vegan Friendly items to choose from! Leather lovers need not worry, they are also well catered for!

There are two sub-ranges within the Zipped range, namely Distressed and Premium.  The Distressed items are manufactured with plated clasps which will change colour as you wear them, giving personality to your jewelry item.  The Premium items are manufactured using Stainless Steel clasps that are imported, allowing for years of flawless wear.

The inspiration for the Zipped range came from a nasty scar that Tersia received after having hardware installed to fix her broken heel bone. This injury saw her spend a long 8 months on crutches, with many challenges to overcome. She was inspired by the nasty stitches that resembled zippers. Hmmm.... Was she high on prescription drugs, or is she really just a creative genius? My bet is a bit of both. Hahaha. And it's AWESOME!!!! The range is a celebration of life, love and overcoming the obstacles that are thrown on our paths...

There will be limited stock available for on-the-spot purchases at the launch, and orders are most welcome! Zipped will be available for wholesale and retail purchases directly from African Goddess Creations, as well as at The Stables Village Market in Chartwell, Fourways (212, 3rd Road, Chartwell – Just off Cedar Road), Sundays Only!

Tersia is in the process of setting up kits for Agents who may be interested in starting their own part-time businesses. (A little birdy even told me that there's a Sassy Mermaid who wants to sell her products from early next year - watch this space!) Online purchases will be available on www.africangoddess.co.za within the next month. RSVP on the event by email: tersia@africangoddess.co.za or 0828974254, or just join on Facebook.

Interview with Boss Model, Make Up Artist and Lingerie Designer, FARRYN TER-OSSEPIANTZ

Hello Babes :-D

How are you all doing? Are you having a great week so far? Well, if you're not... Here's your pick-me-upper. Today we're checking in with the closest person to perfection I've ever met. The ever so stunning Boss Model, Make Up Artist, Lingerie Designer and all round angel/super-star Farryn Ter-Ossepiantz.

Remember this manicure I did:

Yes? YES, of course you do! ;-) So, after this beautiful mani, MANY of my Facebook fans and friends asked me who she is, and why does she have such beautiful hands? Um. Coz she's blessed. In every single aspect. And guess what...? We don't even hate her. Nope. But, but, but, she's so STUNNING!? Yes, I know, I know. But besides being insanely beautiful, she's also got the most amazingly beautiful soul. Kind, humble, grateful, cheerful. We LOVE her!! Love love love!

Do you want to get to know a bit more about her? :) Well, because I love you, and because I'm a rockstar, I've managed to hook you up with a short and sweet interview. :) But fitst, let me show you a few pictures of the beautiful face behind these nails...

How stunning, right???

Ok, so the next picture might inspire you to hate a tiny bit. And I think I'll have to allow you to. Just a tiny bit, though... I'll tell you why.

That body!! Come on. Does she HAVE to be so sexy? I'm not entirely convinced that it's absolutely necessary. Anyway, like I said, you're only allowed to hate a TINY TINY TINY bit. Because.....

She. Is. Freakin. ADORABLE!!!

Anyway, now that you know the face... Let's meet the girl. :)

Sam: What's your background in modelling? When and why did you get started? Was it for the glamour, the money, pure kicks?
Farryn: I started modelling when I was 12. My mom and I shared the same interests in beauty since she is a hairdresser. I started out doing modelling competitions and pageants, but it was more for the confidence boost it gave me and for fun. My mom and I bonded over hair and makeup and of course the day out together. From there it just progressed into taking modelling classes where I learnt how to walk and conduct myself accordingly in a pageant. From there I was taking to Star Model Management which has now merged with Boss Models, and I was signed there and then. The journey since then has  been absolutely fabulous and so adventurous, from travelling the world to experiencing the most amazing people and walking for designers I've only ever read or dreamed about. I am forever grateful for what modelling has done for me and taken me. I think there is a big misconception about the glitz and glam that modelling is made out to be. Yeah, it's fun, you get your hair and make up done, you get to wear designer clothing, but there is so much more than what meets the eye. In the world of modelling it's a hurry up and wait game, call times are EARLY, and you basically have no say in what you do or wear and the look that is created on you. Think of a clothing hanger, that's what we are. Someone to showcase someone else's concepts and designs. The final product that everyone says is magical and gorgeous but tons of effort goes into that. It's not a case of do your hair and makeup and put on a nice dress and shoot it. That said, I LOVE what I do! The attraction to the modelling world was not at all the materialism of it, but more for confidence boost it gave me, and the people I meet along the way.
I'm not surprised at all. There's nothing materialistic or shallow about this girl!

Sam: How would you describe your professional interests?
Farryn: My professional interest varies. Since I was a little girl, I always knew I couldn't sit in a 9 to 5 job, so I became very entrepreneurial from a young age. I've made chocolate and moulded it into fun shapes and sold it at school, sold jewellery in my mom's salon and finally I found my passion as a makeup artist. I am a model, makeup artist, lingerie designer and business woman.
(and goddess!!!!)

Sam: Who are some of your favourite models and designers, and why?
Farryn: There are so many talented models and designers out there, but to name a few I would have to say Stich and Steel (pictured below), Craig Jacobs, David Tlale, The Hive and many more. I've had the privilege of walking with ex miss South Africa Melinda Ban and Cindy Nell at Dennis Lloyds fashion show as well as the CEO of MRS South Africa Joani Johnson. There are so many beautiful models that I am friends with, too many to mention. As an up and coming lingerie designer, I have found the respect of one designer to another. Seeing these designers' collections come to life is a magical moment. I love seeing and experiencing the happiness these designers feel when the first guy or girl opens the show. We as models feel pride in the collections we walk, and that in itself is indescribable.

Sam: What's your fashion matra? How would you describe your style?
Farryn: I would describe my style as simple, yet elegant. I have many different go to looks, it just depends on my mood. If it's a chilled day going to the shops, I would wear a stunning pair of fitted skinny jeans with a pair of sneakers, a loose T, and a choker. For those nights out I love a little glitz and glam and a stunning pair of stilettos, a clutch and a sexy but conservative dress. (If you can ever use those words together - Hahaha)
Farryn, darling, you're a queen! You can pull anything off. So yes, you can use ANY two words together, we'll just keep swooning. :)

So tell me, if Sassy In The City nails are good enough for this goddess... Why haven't YOU made a booking yet?
