Olwen from Follicles Hair Studio in Vorna Valley very kindly offered to do the colour application for me. Oh my goodness, did she do an AMAZING job! I've honestly never been happier with my hair. Because I'm used to wear more than one colour in my hair, I decided to add dark blue to the turquoise. We went for a blue and turquoise grandient. Let me show you.
Wow. How vibrant and stunning is the colour, right? Below are a few pics where you can see the gradient better.
Important notice: You have to lighten your hair to get neon results! The lighter the hair, the more vibrant the colour. Darker hair would give a more matt result.
What is my conclusion? Do I like it? Do I love it? Do I hate it? Will I EVER use it again? Well, keep reading. :)
I was very surprised by how deep and vibrant the colours are. The application was very easy, and the drip-free formula dries to a chalky finish. We left the colour to develop for 2 hours. To be honest, I was rather nervous, as I've never left colour on my hair for that long. I was blown away by the results, leaving my hair soft and super shiny. BETTER than it was before! I kid you not.
I used the turquoise shampoo and freeze spray, but I decided to continue using my regular sulphate free conditioner. I've found that blues and greens fade rather fast compared to pinks, oranges, purples and reds, so I prepared myself to touch up every two weeks. It has now been 3.5 weeks, no touch up, and this is what the colour looks like:
Still as bright and vibrant as I hoped it would be. :-)
General conclusion: I love punked!! I feeds my hair while colouring. It's beautiful, vibrant, and long lasting if taken care of the way it should be. Rember, if you choose not to use their specific colour shampoo and conditioner, you HAVE to use a good sulphate free shampoo and conditioner. My favourite is the sulphate free argon oil shampoo and conditioner by Mark Anthony, available at Clicks or online.
